Am pretty convinced that I will be wearing Converse sneakers even when I have grey hair and all..
And it is, after-all, a pair of powerful sneakers..

Confession time

7:15 PM / Posted by Lawrence / comments (0)

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
(James 5:16)

Confessing my sins seems really scary and given the chance, I would rather not do it at all. But the bible tells us that need to do so.
And here's the thing about confessing our sins. When we confess our sins to God, it seems like it isn't real. Because He isn't there in flesh. We don't see him in face, we just say it and done deal.
But when you put an actual person in front of you, and you are confessing your sins to that person, eye-contacts and all, it is really scary.

And see, here's the thing. When that happens, we know then, we can't be our savior. Our pretentious front or act that we put can't save us from the shame of the sins we committed.
We know then, we are in actual need of a Savior.
And when that happens, that's when the promise of the second part of the verse comes in; that you may be healed.

So, I have no resolutions yet for this year, but I am making one and that is to confess my sins more to my brothers and sisters.
It is a scary thought and if you know the kind of sinful thoughts I have in my head or things I have done, I'm pretty sure you might not wanna be my friend. But here's the thing, the bible promises healing in the end of it.

In the moment of "Noob-ness"

1:18 AM / Posted by Lawrence / comments (0)

I saw a girl yesterday after having lunch, and I was completely smitten to the core. I mean, she is beautiful and she was walking about, tending to her business and there I was, standing there like a noob, not knowing what to say or react.

Don't get me wrong; this isn't some lustful look or some weird behavior I developed while growing up. But truth was, I am completely smitten by how gracefully she was walking about and her smile totally captures me. Even my friend noticed my "noob-ness" moment.

Again, don't get me wrong; when I say she is beautiful, I am not talking about her "hot-ness" or anything like that. If it's anything, I would say the term itself is derogatory towards woman, because face it, there is so much more into a person aside from his or her looks.

Looks will fade away in age, but the character never does.

In the midst of my buisness today, I caught myself thinking about the girl from yesterday and "what if" I have go over and say hi...
But all in all, I still believe my Father in heaven have someone in mind for me and I still haven't met her yet (maybe) and when I do, it will be a match made in heaven, because our Father set us up! What could be more better than having God be your match-maker?
And each day, while knowing I have still yet meet her, I pray truly, that wherever she is or does, that her passion for our Savior continues to burn brighter and brighter and her life is lived out for Him and not for me, and that the very core of her soul is for the One who sits on the throne of heaven.

So, while my fist is waving up in the air and at the top of my lungs, I yelled, "Life must go on!" and resume my day while putting the girl I met yesterday behind me.

Water is just coffee that hasn't reached it's full potential

A brides' lovesick for her Bridegroom

11:46 PM / Posted by Lawrence / comments (0)

Since God loves me so much, I have come to terms that He wouldn't let me be satisfied by anything or anyone apart Himself.

I have finally come to terms with my heartache is caused by the lovesick for the Bridegroom that has been taken away.

I mourn and fast
because the Bridegroom has been taken away.
He is away and absent
Things are not well
Things are not well
Until He returns

How can I sleep
When the Bridegroom is absent
When He is not among our midst

He will come at night like a thief
He will come on His white horse

When I see Him,
I will be satisfied
I will be complete

Look up,
and wait
and keep watch!

He is returning
He is coming back
He is preparing us rooms

Like a lovesick bride
We wait and keep watch
I wait and I keep watch
Today might be the day He returns.....

Cool toys I wanna have! =))

4:58 AM / Posted by Lawrence / comments (0)

Amazing looking toys made by Ashley Woods, an artist in Australia!
These are called World War Robots Portable (WWRP) and it's done and design in partnership with ThreeA.

World War Robot is a story currently being told in two comics (The third installment is on its way) and it is based upon the story of Earth in 1980s which is at war with it's colony in Mars, which has declared independence.
Heavy robotics army and space travel are apart of this war and the war machines of both sides are being supplied by the same industry, Rothchild Industries. Nothing much in originality of the storyline, but it does make it up in the cool looking robots! =p

This line of toys feature really incredible details and paintwork like rust stains and damages, unlike most toys which has to be custom painted to add in the details and battle damages.

This are just a few samples of what the figures look like up-close.

The WWRP Bertie Mk 2

The Medic Marines

The Dirty Deeds Berties

And more insanely looking robots which makes Transformer and Gundam figures looks like some cardboard cut out models....

One thing for sure; if I get them, they will make my Transformer collection look like total noob.... =p
Well, that's if I can get them here..

What happens when you mix the British and zombies together?

10:58 PM / Posted by Lawrence / comments (0)

Been a long fan of zombie games (Resident evil series, Left for dead and etc) and even a longer time time fan in zombie movies (Night of the living dead, Zombieland and etc), but this, is.. amazing! Not even Zombieland can top this..

Not much of gore and horror in this film which is a good thing. Humor and comedy are aplenty throughout the film and they did so without sacrificing the intense moments that the usual zombie movies offer.

Zombieland gives you a good laugh at the first, say, 20 minutes of the film and it starts to take a serious dive in it's tone as it progress and the gore and blood are aplenty to substitute the substance.. But they still did a good job compared to other zombie movie franchise like, Resident Evil and "The night of the living dead" series and remakes..

Shaun of the Dead, is a totally different thing.. Using primarily British humor (Think Hugh Grant), they actually manage to create a decent zombie film, mainly thanks to the dynamic duo, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost from "Hot Fuzz".

So, this movie is something I will watch again and again and again.. Like Star Wars... And Lord of the Rings...
Best part is.. It doesn't give me zombie nightmares.. =))

The worth of oneself..

10:07 PM / Posted by Lawrence / comments (0)

Found myself wondering who am I and how much I'm worth this morning.. Was about to go for a jog and was about to have a chat with the Holy Spirit when that thought seep into my mind. When it did, I found myself kicking myself in my own butt.

Here's why..

I had struggles with my own identity for years. The struggle always includes in questions like, "Who am I?" or "what have I done to earn someone's respect" and etc.

And here's the amazing thing about my Father in heaven aka God..

That years of struggle and striving in finding my worth, I eventually found it in Him, in Christ.. How so, you may ask.
The bible tells us that if anyone is in Christ, he or she is a new creation.
This new creation, is created by God Himself and not by us.. Hence, it is Holy! It is good! It is prefect! Not because we done anything to make it so, but because Jesus made it so!; through the cross!
I am holy, regardless of what I have done or what mistakes I will do in the future.. And it is not because I am good, but because of what He has done on that cross..

So, who I am today, is not in what I did in the past, it's not in what I do for my career, its not in what I will do in the future..
Who I am is what has been done for me; through that cross..

How much am I worth today? My worth is equal to that cross..
Who I am today? A new creation, created by Christ Himself.. I am the son of Most High...

All I think about now.... =((

The Beautiful Letdown

6:06 PM / Posted by Lawrence / comments (0)

“Satisfy me in the morning with your unfailing love.” -Psalm 90:14

I would be satisfy if *fill in the blanks*.
This statement has been around for so long and has caused us into a frenzy of chasing after things or relationships or status, thinking we will be satisfy if we have it. This is it, I will be happy if I have this.
Not to mean that it's wrong to be going after all these things, which some we truly need it, but it would be sad to think we can be satisfy if we have a certain thing, or being in a relationship with someone.
I'm not saying not to love your spouse or your other half. But if we are trying to finding the satisfaction of our heart in them, we are bound to be disappointed.

C.S. Lewis said, “If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”
Our hearts were created for someone and there is a longing for Him. Until we see Him face to face, eye ball to eye ball, we are just trying to substitute the longing with something else; the right clothes, the right music, the thousand of friends we have on Facebook.

And see here the other thing, we ask God to satisfy us in the morning, and it may not happen immediately. Don't go rushing into finding substitution, be content with your dissatisfaction and wait for Him for His arrival.
“Taste and see the Lord is good. How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.” -Psalm 34:8

To quote Jon Foreman from Switchfoot, “It was a beautiful letdown, the day I knew, that all the riches this world had to offer me, will never do.”
